Lei Yuhai, born in 1961, began learning Western painting at the age of 12 and started studying calligraphy at 20. He is currently a National First-Class Art and Crafts Designer, a Cultural Department Level Two Calligrapher, a member of the China Painting and Calligraphy Masters Association, a member of the Datong City Calligraphy and Painting Association, Director of Datong Yu Mo Xuan Art Institute, Academic Committee Member of Datong Yun Gang Art Institute, and specializes in large-character calligraphy and Chinese landscape painting. He has participated in numerous national, provincial, and municipal exhibitions and has won awards. In 2018, he was invited by Beijing Huayi Culture Company to join an international巡回 exhibition of Chinese painting and calligraphy masters in France, Japan, and South Korea. His calligraphy teachers include Yan Zhenqing and Mi Fu; his painting mentors are Shi Tao and Huang Gongwang. Over the years, he has been interviewed and reported by multiple media outlets.
