Qiu Yan, style name Peihua, is from Xinyang, Henan Province, and resides in Beijing.
Current positions:
Academician of the China International Art and Culture Research Institute;
Vice President of China Painting and Calligraphy Network;
Deputy Director of the Creation Department of the Beijing Branch of the World Chinese Artists Association;
Member of the China Huaxia 10,000 Li Travel Painting Association;
Council Member of the China Painting and Calligraphy Art Research Institute;
Academician of the Beijing Banlu Cultural Arts Research Institute, etc.
Specializes in the depiction techniques of lotus flowers, peonies, and fish. To pursue art, she decisively left her hometown in Central Plains and moved to Beijing. She successively studied under two outstanding contemporary Chinese painters and thinkers: Qiu Hanqiao, a distinguished national painter and philosopher, and Xu Ming, a renowned overseas Chinese painter. Under her mentors’ guidance, her works developed a distinctive artistic style characterized by bold ink, rich colors, and vibrant beauty. In 2015, she furthered her studies at the Peking University Art Class, enhancing her sketching and creative concepts, achieving a qualitative leap. Especially after mastering solid painting fundamentals, she actively explored her artistic potential and refined her unique visual language.
Her artworks have repeatedly won awards and received honors in numerous exhibitions across Hong Kong and various provinces and cities in China. They are collected by multiple art institutions, enterprises, government officials, business leaders, scholars, individuals, and international friends.
