Member of the China Calligraphy Association, Senior Calligrapher appointed by China Youth Calligraphy Network, and Council Member of the China Artists Association and China Large Character Calligraphy Association. In 2014, he won the first prize in the national calligraphy competition titled “Chinese Dream · National Soul — Deyi Shuangxing Cup”.

Mr. Zhang Daoming has a solid foundation and deep study in calligraphy. He initially started with copying the styles of Yan Zhenqing and Liu Gongquan, then studied Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi, absorbing the strengths of various masters and refining them into his own unique style through guidance from multiple teachers. He excels in large regular script, running script, cursive script, and seal script, especially in running-cursive and large character calligraphy. His works are widely collected and gifted to political figures, business leaders, cultural elites, overseas Chinese, and foreign friends, possessing both aesthetic appeal and artistic value. His running-cursive calligraphy embodies Daoist grace and naturalness as well as Buddhist elegance and tranquility, reflecting a fluid, Tai Chi-like rhythm—his masterpieces have gradually developed a distinctive style that sets him apart as a true calligraphy master.

Mr. Zhang is modest and steady in character, particularly skilled in Zen meditation and inner reflection. He prefers quiet solitude to discover insights into the essence of calligraphy, avoiding hasty or superficial works. Authentic pieces are rare—he began exhibiting and competing in 2013, and since then, the market value of his works has steadily increased. Currently, the market price for Mr. Zhang’s fine calligraphy works ranges from 6,000 to 8,000 RMB per square foot, offering immense collectible value and potential for appreciation. His calligraphy artistry is uniquely profound and remarkable, gaining increasing recognition and collection interest from calligraphy enthusiasts and collectors in recent years.
