Personal Profile
Li Runxia, female, born on May 21, 1958, is from Liujiazhen, Cuijiaotou Town, with a junior high school education. She has loved painting and paper cutting since childhood. Although she was unable to pursue it further due to health issues, her passion remained unchanged. I have always used my skills and craftsmanship to serve the local community, helping neighbors and villagers with whatever I can do. For weddings and other important family events in the village, my paper-cutting, embroidery, and traditional needlework are indispensable. During festivals, I voluntarily make window decorations for everyone, and my works are deeply loved by fellow villagers. After the reform and opening-up in the 1980s, I worked for many years at the Cuijiaotou Cultural Station producing crafts. Many of my embroidered pieces were collected by the county cultural museum and promoted through the museum to reach across the country and even abroad. In November 2017, driven by enthusiasm and a lifetime of creations, I brought my art to Qiwenschool, a century-old institution in Qiuyang County, to teach children how to cut paper, aiming to pass down and promote this precious cultural heritage. My creations stem from life—flowers, plants, and all aspects of human existence come alive in my work, full of charm and endless interest. At the same time, my works consistently highlight the tremendous changes brought to rural areas by the Party's people-oriented policies, fully reflecting my heartfelt love for the Party, the people, my hometown, and life. My artworks are rich in meaning and content, widely appreciated by people. My works have been selected multiple times for exhibitions of embroidery and paper-cutting at city and county levels. I have won first prize in the Qiuyang County Tourism Bureau Embroidery Competition and third prize in the Baoji Xiqin Qiaoniang Competition. This year, I received second prize in the Baoji Xiqin Qiaoniang Paper Cutting Competition and third prize in the Qiuyang Bag Competition.
In 2018, I won third prize in the Baoji City Xiqin Qiaoniang Handicraft Skills Competition for paper cutting, and first prize in the Qiuyang County Xiqin Embroidery Competition. In 2018, in 2020, I won second prize in the Baoji City Xiqin Qiaoniang Handicraft Skills Competition for paper cutting, and third prize in the Second Qiuyang County Xiqin Embroidery and Bag Competition. I also won first prize in the Qiuyang County Bingfen Art Competition. My paper-cutting works have been frequently exhibited at the Qiuyang County Cultural Square, earning me recognition as an outstanding inheritor by the Cultural Hall and Tourism Bureau.
