Chen Guoguang, born in 1949, is currently a member and standing director of the Art Committee of the China Academy of Arts and Culture, a specially invited artist for calligraphy and painting by the China Gift Center at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, vice president of the China International Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, a national first-class fine arts professional, and an advanced inheritor of intangible cultural heritage (Chinese painting). He won the third prize in the National Art Exhibition celebrating the 60th anniversary of the founding of New China, had twelve works collected by the Olympic Organizing Committee, participated in the International Olympic Collection Exhibition, received the gold award at the Cross-Strait Exchange Exhibition, had four works selected for the World Expo, and during his exhibition in Japan, his work was collected by Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama. During an exhibition at the Emirates Palace Hotel, multiple works were collected by Emirati officials. He attended the Spring Festival gathering hosted by the Great Hall of the People for diplomats from various countries, and many of his works were collected by foreign envoys. His long scroll "Elegy of Heroes" was selected for the Global Chinese Ink and Brushwork Art Exhibition to welcome the Olympics.
