Personal Profile

Xin Shiping, male, native of Beijing, is currently a member and honorary councilor of the Chinese Hard Pen Calligraphy Association, and vice president of the Higher Education Branch. Previously served as Deputy Director of the Education and Training Center of the Chinese Hard Pen Calligraphy Association and Deputy Director of the Research and Teaching Department of the Advanced Study Class at the Academy of Fine Arts, Tsinghua University. With many years of experience in calligraphy education and training, he believes that the soul of art lies in human spiritual motivation and is also an embodiment of culture. Calligraphy art in particular encapsulates Chinese culture and carries forward the five-thousand-year-old Chinese civilization. He loves Chinese culture and thus loves Chinese calligraphy art. He is committed to finding scientific methods to inherit calligraphy art, seeking to transform profound concepts into accessible ones, obscure ideas into clear and concise principles, and establish quantifiable artistic rules that are easy to grasp.
