Wu Shunzhong, pen name Dashanzharen, senior journalist of radio and television media, national first-class artist, member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association and the Chinese Collectors Association. Guest professor at the School of Literature, Sichuan University, and director of the Beijing University Academy of Painting and Calligraphy. Director of the Zhushan Art Museum, Director of the Chinese Dream of the Red Chamber Museum, Director of the Canal Tea Culture Theme Museum, and Director of the Dragon Culture Museum. Executive Council Member of the World Artists Association (USA), Vice President of the Singapore Chinese Artists Association, and Vice President of the European Union French Oriental Art Research Association.
Awards and Honors 2020 Shanghai World Expo Art Competition – First Prize in Calligraphy! 2019 Gold Medal in the National Painting and Calligraphy Competition Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China! June 2019, a special exhibition of Wu Shunzhong’s “Dream of the Red Chamber” themed paintings and calligraphy, hosted by the Chinese Dream of the Red Chamber Research Society, with his Twelve Beauties of the Grand View Garden uniquely collected by the Hollywood Art Institute in the United States! 2018 Shanghai Diamond Sutra Competition – Nominee Award, with his work collected by the organizing committee! 2017 At the World Artists Association (USA) Painting and Calligraphy Competition, his calligraphy work won First Prize! 2016 Participated in the Singapore Chinese Artists Association Painting and Calligraphy Competition, winning the Gold Medal and elected as Vice President! 2015 Celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the Victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan Painting and Calligraphy Competition – Top Ten Excellent Award! Before 2014, he was awarded the Special Contribution Award by the State Council and the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, and the China News Award of the "Five One Project". He has held more than ten solo exhibitions of painting and calligraphy at institutions such as the National Art Museum of China, the Shanghai World Expo, and the Sichuan Provincial Museum. His works have been collected by national art institutions and individuals including Zhongnanhai, the National Museum, Diaoyutai, Beijing Hotel, and Rongbaozhai!
Artistic Value Wu Shunzhong’s paintings and calligraphy are grand and majestic, elegant and noble! He not only deeply studies the essence of traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy, but also develops his own unique brushwork style and artistic character, pioneering a textbook-level peak path in Chinese painting and calligraphy! His representative works have achieved high prices at major international and domestic auctions, fully demonstrating their artistic value! In 2016, at the Singapore International Arts Festival, his calligraphy work sold for 1.8 million yuan, reaching 100,000 yuan per square foot!
