Mo Lüming, born in October 1975, is a military calligrapher. He began practicing calligraphy from childhood, displaying unique talent and perseverance, maintaining consistent practice for forty years. At seventeen, he enlisted in the army, creating numerous outstanding calligraphy works that were later reported and published by central-level media. He is the only contemporary calligrapher capable of mastering all eight major styles. His O-style calligraphy is both form and spirit, fully embodying the essence of Ouyang Xun’s brushwork. His running script follows the styles of Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi, with refined brush techniques, stable and elegant strokes, and beauty beyond words. His cursive script flows like dragons and snakes, with dynamic and fluid strokes, naturally harmonious and incomparably exquisite.
Mo Lüming’s works are collected by many calligraphy enthusiasts: In 2019, his piece "The Inscription of a Humble Abode" was purchased by a fellow artist for one million yuan. His disciples are spread throughout the world, with 396 direct students and 2,568 followers who have formally studied under him. Among them, several students have joined the China Calligraphers Association and earned titles such as National First-Class Calligrapher and National First-Class Painter. Some students have even become internet celebrities, with over one million followers.Mo Lüming is modest and never seeks fame or publicity—his sole purpose is to inherit the classical Chinese culture. He draws inspiration from ancient methods, blending study with creation, deeply understanding the sages in contemplation and adhering to their principles in innovation.
