     Liu Buzhan, styled Beidou, pseudonym Xingyi Shanfang, is a 21st-generation descendant of Liu Dingzhi, a renowned Confucian scholar of the Ming Dynasty. He is a member of the China Artists Association, the China Calligraphers Association, an art consultant at the Putuo Mountain Buddhist Painting Academy, an art consultant at the Wesley Art College in Vancouver, Canada, a judge for the National Fine Arts Exhibition of the Buddhist Artists Association, one of the series in CCTV's "Chinese Contemporary Painters" large-scale documentary series, and featured in the interview program "Influential Figures." He is also a specially appointed professor at Guangxi Normal University. He is a renowned art educator and art critic.
