Personal Profile

Lu Hua, a well-known Chinese calligrapher and painter from Taihe, Anhui, a famous hometown of Chinese painting and calligraphy. He is currently a member of the China Calligraphers Association, a member of the Anhui Calligraphers Association, an executive director of the China Painting and Calligraphy Association, and a member of the Fuyang Calligraphers Association. He is also an executive director of the Taihe County Calligraphers Association. In 2005, he won the first prize in the 4th Chinese Regular Script Exhibition; in 2007, he won the third prize in the 3rd National Couplets Exhibition; in 2017, he won the second prize in the First Fushou Large Character Competition in Fuyang City; in 2018, he won the second prize in the 9th National Painting and Calligraphy Competition. Teacher Lu has been deeply interested in Chinese characters since childhood, under the influence of a family environment full of literary culture. For decades, he has consistently persisted in practicing calligraphy, never ceasing to practice. Through the cold winters and hot summers, he has diligently studied and practiced, and after many years of effort, he has become highly skilled. He has thoroughly explored various calligraphic styles, especially loving the regular, running and cursive scripts of Wang Xizhi and Mi Fu. He particularly loves large characters. Now, he has become a famous calligrapher nationwide, and there are always people coming to ask for his calligraphy works! Looking at Teacher Lu's works, especially his running script, which is bold and grand, combining ancient techniques with innovation, it has the bone and spirit of the Wei and Jin dynasties as well as the brushwork of the modern era; his cursive script flows like clouds and water, completed in one breath, with varying thickness and dryness and wetness; his regular script is skillful, firm and upright, with elegant structure, pleasing to the eye, appreciated by both refined and common people, with a unique style. In recent decades, he has participated in many national calligraphy competitions and exhibitions, and has won various gold, silver and bronze medals. Now, Teacher Lu's calligraphy art works are being eagerly purchased by knowledgeable people, art lovers, collectors, and business leaders across the country!
