Wang Changyun, also known by his pen names Cang Yun and Master of Zuimo Studio, was born in Bengbu in 1954. He is a full-time Chinese painting artist and a National First-Class Artist. He specializes in freehand landscape, flower and bird paintings. His works have been published in major newspapers and periodicals at the municipal, provincial and national levels, and have won awards in numerous national, provincial and municipal calligraphy, painting and art exhibitions as well as invitational exhibitions. Some of his works are collected by many academies, associations and museums in China. He has held personal exhibitions and been invited to exhibit in South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, European and American countries, as well as Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan on multiple occasions. In 2012, he was invited to participate in the "First Cross-Strait Cultural and Art Summit". In 2014, he visited Europe as a member of the "China-Europe Art Dialogue Delegation". In 2016, he visited Russia as part of the "Belt and Road Delegation" of renowned Chinese calligraphers and painters. His biography and works have been included in dozens of dictionaries and collections, such as Dictionary of Notable Figures in Contemporary Chinese Literature and Art, Dictionary of Renowned Chinese Calligraphers and Painters, Dictionary of Notable Chinese Calligraphers and Painters, Essentials of Contemporary Renowned Chinese Calligraphers and Painters, and Canon of Renowned Chinese Calligraphers and Painters in the 20th Century.
