Personal Profile

Wang Guofeng, pen name Jiangnan, male, Han Chinese, born in January 1954, from Huangshan City, Anhui Province, a member of the Communist Party of China. He is currently an academician of the Huaxia Lanting Calligraphy Academy in Beijing, a member of the Chinese Hard Pen Calligraphy Association, a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, a senior researcher at the Lushan Mao Style Calligraphy Research Institute, and a member of the China Contemporary Painting and Calligraphy Masters Association. In 2016, he won the Best Work Award in the Second National Calligraphy Competition. In May 2017, his work won the Silver Award in the Fifth "China Dream Cup" Painting and Calligraphy Competition across the country, and was awarded the honorary title of "Outstanding Artist of the Artistic Chinese Dream". In October 2017, to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and welcome the successful convening of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, his calligraphy work won the Gold Prize in the 17th "Lushan Cup" Painting and Calligraphy Competition across the country. In January 2018, his work won the Best Work Award in the first "Calligraphy Impression Cup" National Calligraphy Competition. In May 2018, his work won the Gold Prize in the Sixth "China Dream Cup" Painting and Calligraphy Competition across the country. In October 2018, his calligraphy work won the Special Gold Prize in the 18th "Lushan Cup" Painting and Calligraphy Competition across the country. In 2018, he was recommended as the "People's Artist" title by the key recommendation of the "Two Sessions" of the 13th National People's Congress and the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. In June 2019, his work won the Third Prize in the event hosted by the "Painting and Calligraphy for the Chinese Feelings" Organizing Committee of the China Education Television Station, which was held to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. In August 2019, his calligraphy work won the Special Gold Prize in the 19th "Lushan Cup" Painting and Calligraphy Competition across the country. He was rated as a Senior Calligrapher by the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Professional Title Grading Evaluation Center.
