 Wang Zhi, courtesy name Guodong, pen name Muren, was born in 1968, from Feidong, Anhui, a well-known contemporary Chinese poet, couplet, calligraphy and painting artist. He is currently a member of the Chinese Couplets Association, a member of the Calligraphy Art Committee of the Chinese Couplets Association, a researcher at the Institute of Traditional Chinese Couplets Culture, a member of the Calligraphy Education Professional Committee of the Chinese Education Society, an academic committee member of the Chinese Calligraphy Research Institute, vice chairman of the Wu陵 Calligraphers Association, a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, a specially appointed calligrapher of the China International Painting and Calligraphy Research Institute, a member of the Chinese Hard Pen Calligraphers Association, a member of the Anhui Calligraphers Association, honorary president of the Oriental Arts Academy, lifetime honor professor at the China Calligraphy and Painting Arts Creation Center, and a researcher at the Beijing Huaxia Poetry, Couplets and Painting Research Institute, etc.   His works have been selected for the 6th Contemporary Calligraphers and Painters Invitational Exhibition; selected for the 3rd Contemporary Calligraphers and Painters' Excellent Works Auction; selected for the Chinese Calligraphers and Painters' Excellent Works Exhibition. Exhibited in South Korea and Japan. Selected for the 2nd and 3rd National Old, Middle-aged and Youth Literature and Art Works Exhibition; selected for the 3rd World Chinese (Hong Kong) Art Exhibition; selected for the 2nd "Hope Cup" National Calligraphy and Seal Carving Grand Exhibition; selected for the China Calligraphy and Painting Delegation to Australia Exhibition; selected for the "Yan Di Soul Cup" Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition; selected for the First Pacific Cup Contemporary Artists' Excellent Works Exhibition; selected for the 2002 "Western Development Cup" Chinese Hard Pen Calligraphers' Excellent Works Exhibition; selected for the First Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Small Work Grand Competition, etc., in domestic and international large-scale exhibitions.
His works have won the first prize in the "Chinese Nation Art Cup" Calligraphy and Painting Competition, the first prize in the "Hongyan Cup" National Calligraphy, Painting and Photography Art Grand Competition, and the first prize in the 6th, 7th and 8th "Hope Cup" National Teacher-Student Calligraphy, Painting and Seals Grand Competition. His works have won the "Gold Prize" in the 2001 China International Science and Technology Cultural Achievements Expo Calligraphy and Painting Grand Competition, and have also won the second prize in the "Welcome to Macao Return Cup" National Calligraphy and Painting Competition and the third "Qingfeng Cup" Domestic and Overseas Calligraphy and Painting Competition. In addition, his works have won awards in more than 100 domestic and international calligraphy and painting competitions such as the "Changbaishan Cup", "Shennai Cup", "Oriental Cup", and "National Rise Cup". In spring 2008, his calligraphy works won an award and were included in the book "Olympic Me - The Best Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Works". He was awarded the title of "Civilization Star" by the competition organizing committee. At the same time, his works also won the "Silver Prize" in the "Olympic Journey Calligraphy and Art Exhibition" organized by the Beijing 29th Olympic Games Organizing Committee's News and Publicity Department and other units, and won the "Excellent Award" in the "Welcome the Olympics Revitalization of Chinese Culture National Calligraphy and Painting Masters' Works Exhibition". His works were collected by the organizing committee. In August 2008, his works won the "First Prize" in the "110th Anniversary of Zhou Enlai's Birth National Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition" and were collected by the Zhou Enlai Memorial. At the same time, his works also won the first prize in the "China Olympic Year National Calligraphy and Painting Competition", and were rated by the competition organizing committee and the judging committee as the "2008 Annual Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Figure". In November 2010, his cursive script works won the "Excellence Award" in the "First National New Rural Couplets Calligraphy Competition" hosted by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Chinese Couplets Association, and were displayed in Beijing. In March 2011, his calligraphy works won the first prize in the 9th "Praise of China" National Literature and Art Works Grand Competition hosted by the Chinese Essay Society and the Shenzhou Poetry, Painting and Calligraphy Newspaper. His works have been exhibited in some provinces and cities in China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Belgium, Canada, Italy, Brazil, Japan, the United States, South Korea and other countries and regions, and have been collected by national cultural museums, memorials, art institutes and international friends. In January 1992, he successfully held his first personal calligraphy and painting exhibition, and his artistic achievements were published in the Hefei Evening News, Xin'an Evening News, Anhui Market News, and Feidong News. His calligraphy and couplet works have been published in newspapers such as the Youth Calligraphy News, China Calligraphy and Painting News, Calligraphy Guide, Shenzhou Poetry, Painting and Calligraphy News, Couplet, Folk Couplets Stories, China Couplets News, and China's Poetry, Couplets and Painting.
