 Shi Weishan, whose secular name was Wang Changshan, with the courtesy name Changzhi, and former dharma name Zhenchang, also known as Baishi Shanren. Born on April 4, 1979, he is from Chuzhou, Anhui.In 2006, he ordained under Master Xin Yan of Puxian Chan Temple in Gao'an, Jiangxi. In 2008, he received full precepts at Wuzu Chan Temple in Huangmei, Hubei. He currently serves as the Chief Abbot of Qiyanshi Temple in Bengbu City, Anhui Province. In 2016, he started learning Chinese painting on his own, and he likes the works of Zhang Daqian on lotus flowers. He once studied under renowned artists Ren Yumin and Wu Songshan. He practiced copying the "Jieziyuan Huapu" and practiced calligraphy by copying the "Qinli Bei" by Yan Zhenqing.
       In 2017, his ink painting "Recalling the Lotus Pond" won the Outstanding Award at the Second Buddhist Painting Exhibition in Anhui Province. In 2019, he graduated from the Bengbu City Calligraphy and Painting Academy. Influenced by the literary and art circles of Zhucheng, he has made many connections with people interested in calligraphy and painting. His works use light ink, are simple and elegant, with smooth lines, vivid and lifelike, transcendent and refined, full of Zen spirit. He often participates in charity public welfare activities, and many of his works have been donated to charitable organizations, religious departments, and lay practitioners.
