Zhou Jiyun, styled Chengnuo, also known as Meiweng Danxu. Born in Taixiang County, Anhui Province, China, a hometown of Chinese painting and calligraphy art. He is currently a member of the China Calligraphers and Painters Association, a member of the China Senior Art Research Association, a researcher and senior painter at the Huangshan Landscape Painting Academy, a member of the Anhui Senior Art Exchange Association, and a member of the Fuyang City Artists Association. He is also a standing committee member of the Taixiang County Art Research Institute.
From a young age, he was deeply devoted to the art of calligraphy and painting, and for decades, his pursuit of art has been like being intoxicated. He has been diligently working on his brush and ink, never ceasing. No matter the cold or heat, whenever he has spare time, he always keeps exploring the art of calligraphy and painting. He deeply understands the essence of ancient calligraphy scripts, and has made great efforts to study famous inscriptions such as "Cao Quan Stele", "Yi Ying Stele" and "Shimen Pronouncement". In flower and bird painting, he mainly follows the style of Tang Yin and Badashanren, inheriting the brushwork of masters such as Qi Baishi, Wang Xuetao, and Wang Chengxi. He has learned from various sources, collecting the best of the art world. His efforts have not been in vain. In recent years, his carefully created works are close to life, popular among the people, appreciated by both the refined and the common, and highly praised by a wide range of art lovers. His calligraphy has a solid and simple structure, with smooth and free-flowing strokes, and a rare strong and vigorous style can be seen between the lines. His Chinese paintings have concise yet rigorous compositions, and their brushwork is ancient and skillful, so that art lovers who see them will praise them and find it hard to put them down. Most of his works in recent years have been collected by art lovers and collectors in the folk. As a result, the reputation of this art master has spread throughout the country without needing to be advertised!
