Personal Profile

Guan Shiqin, pen name Guan Yao, style name Jinhou, male, Han nationality, born in 1956 in Lixin County, Anhui Province, with a junior college education, a member of the Communist Party of China. He is currently a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, the Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association, the Chinese Calligraphy Masters Association, the Chinese Literati Calligraphers Association, an academician of the Beijing Liuyijia Yun Art Research Institute, vice president of the International Famous Calligraphers and Painters Association, and a visiting professor. Mr. Guan has always been indifferent to fame and wealth. Since childhood, he has loved reading and practicing calligraphy, absorbing the essence of art from his predecessors, and diligently studying the creation of calligraphy art. His works have won the special prize once, first prize six times, gold prize seventy-six times, silver prize eighteen times, and bronze prize ten times in national calligraphy competitions. His calligraphy works were included in the Chinese postage stamp album in 2014, the American postage stamp album in 2016, and the French Western European six countries postage stamp album in 2016, which was preserved. His works were included in (Chinese Master Calligraphy and Painting Classics) published at home and abroad, included in (Chinese Encyclopedia) for collection, and collected by cultural and artistic associations of calligraphy and painting in the United States, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Russia, Indonesia, Hong Kong and other countries and regions. He was awarded the title of "Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Exchange Ambassador", "Contemporary International Calligraphy and Painting Celebrity", "Chinese Virtuous and Artistic Excellent Calligraphy and Painting Artist", and "Outstanding Artist of the Chinese Dream". Mr. Guan's calligraphy works have received consistent praise from colleagues. His works are deeply rooted, with a graceful style in regular script, running script, clerical script, cursive script, and seal script, and are praised for their fresh and vigorous elegance.
