Liang Yi, style name Chenming, pseudonym Chaoyun Tangzhu. Born in August 1977.
Currently a member of the Board of Directors of the China Calligraphers and Painters Association, a member of the Anhui Branch of the China Artists Association, a member of the China Arts and Crafts Society, and vice president of the Northern Anhui Painting and Calligraphy Research Institute.
Liang Yi studied under the styles of Wang Xizhi, Wang Xianzhi, and Yan Zhenqing, and pursued the legacy of Qingteng and Badashanren. He also learned calligraphy and painting and folk crafts from Liu Yinxiang, a disciple of Cui Zifan. In 2002, Liang Yi held his first personal calligraphy and painting exhibition. His works have been selected for many national-level calligraphy and painting exhibitions and have won awards. His works have been introduced by media such as the People's Daily, China News Network, Xinhua News Agency, and China Central Television. On the path of literati calligraphy and painting creation, he is good at absorbing the essence of folk art, using methods such as carving and烙画 (burning paintings), continuously expanding the space of artistic expression, and effectively combining tradition with modernity, and elegance with populism in his works.
