Sun Duogui, styled Qiying, also known as Bancheng and Zhaiyou Hall Master, is the nephew of Sun Jia'nai, a prominent official of the late Qing Dynasty. Born in Shouxian County, Anhui Province, known as the hometown of Chinese calligraphy, he comes from a family with a strong cultural background. From a young age, he was influenced by his family's culture, studied ancient methods, extensively reviewed various steles, and absorbed the strengths of many masters, thus developing his own unique style. He is skilled in calligraphy, seal carving, poetry, essays, and genealogy.
      He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the China Youth Calligraphers Association, a member of the Anhui Calligraphers Association, a member of the Huainan Calligraphers Association, a member of the Zhoukou Calligraphers Association, a member of the Putian Calligraphers Association, a member of the Putian Poetry Society, Deputy Director of the Huainan Jiuzhou Painting and Calligraphy Research Institute, a signed calligrapher of CACC China (Hong Kong) Artworks Exchange, an Executive Member of the World Sun Clan Kinship Association, Deputy Director of the Historical Research Committee of the World Sun Clan Kinship Association, Deputy Director of the Office of the Shouzhou Sun Clan Temple, and Vice President of the Anhui Sun Clan Kinship Association.
