Peng Qiurong
Personal Profile
?Peng Qiurong, born in Chengdu, graduated from Shenzhen University and completed advanced studies at the China Academy of Art. Since childhood, she has been passionate about painting, excelling in meticulous brushwork, freehand brushwork, flowers and birds, landscapes, animals, and figures, particularly renowned for her Chinese ink paintings both at home and abroad. She possesses profound traditional skills, with refined brushwork and ink application, and a vivid sense of rhythm and spirit. Her works integrate poetry, calligraphy, painting, and seal carving into a unified artistic form. In composition, she emphasizes the main subject, skillfully crops elements, often depicts broken branches, and carefully balances emptiness and solidity, as well as visual interplay and response. She adeptly combines poetic inscriptions with the artistic expression of her paintings. In technique, her flower-and-bird and animal paintings adapt according to the subject matter—more concrete than landscape paintings yet abstract in spatial representation, while her figure paintings are rounded and richly detailed. Her meticulous colored paintings exhibit heightened realism, with colors possessing a distinct decorative beauty; her freehand brushwork, by contrast, employs even more concise brush and ink, adhering strictly to procedural rules with little room for alteration. Her works have been exhibited and awarded numerous times in Europe, America, and overseas. Numerous institutions and individuals both domestically and internationally have highly praised her and collected many of her pieces. She is currently a member of the China Artists Association, a council member of the China Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, and a National First-Class Artist.
