 Yang Qin (pen name: Yang Qin), national first-class calligrapher. Studio name: Juxian Pavilion. Male, Han ethnicity, native of Chengdu, Sichuan Province, holds a master's degree. Member of the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Art Association (formerly member of the China International Calligraphers Association). Chairman of the Council of Qufu Hongru Painting and Calligraphy Academy, specially appointed artist. Born in 1963 into a scholarly family. His maternal grandfather Zhang Weiwen was a renowned painter and calligrapher during the Republic of China era. He studied under Master Zhang Daqian and was known as one of the "Two Zhangs of Bashu" in the Chinese art world (Zhang Daqian and Zhang Weiwen). From childhood, he has had a passion for painting. In calligraphy, he studied under Wang Jianyong, a prominent calligrapher from Sichuan, and has long practiced famous models such as Yan Zhenqing’s "Inscription of the Many Treasures Pagoda" and "Stele of Diligent Etiquette," Chu Suiliang’s "Yinfu Jing" and "Yan Temple Preface to the Sacred Teaching," Mi Fu’s "Shu Su Tie," Zhao Mengfu’s "Ode to Leisure," Huang Daozhou’s "Hymn of Filial Piety," Yu Shinan’s "Preface to the Breaking of Heresies," Wang Xizhi’s "Huangting Classic" and "Treatise on Yue Yi," and Zhong Yao’s "Xuanshi Table." He enjoys copying Buddhist scriptures, especially the "Heart Sutra." Major Awards and Achievements: Won the gold award at the "China Belt and Road National Calligraphy Competition" in 2017. Won the silver award at the "Chinese Soul • Damo Cup Online Calligraphy Competition" in 2017. In 2019, awarded "National Annual Art Model Figure" by the People's Art Review Committee and also honored as "Most Beloved Painter and Calligrapher of the People in 2019." In 2019, recognized by the Traditional Chinese Art Inheritor Database as an artist who "Promotes Art and Possesses Both Virtue and Talent." In 2019, included in the National Painting and Calligraphy Masters Database. In 2019, established his own encyclopedia platform for artists' information inquiry and certification. In 2019, won the bronze award at the De Yi Cup National Painting and Calligraphy Art Competition celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the nation. In 2019, ranked 5th (silver award) at the Third "Er-Wang Award" China Painting and Calligraphy Art Competition. In 2019, featured in the special album "Focus on Contemporary Art Masters — This Issue: Yang Qin" published officially in June! In 2019, included in the "Dictionary of Contemporary Famous Chinese Artists," officially published in October! In 2019, China Post issued a commemorative stamp album titled "Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the Nation" featuring a collection of Mr. Yang Qin’s painting and calligraphy works! In 2019, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs specially invited Mr. Yang Qin, a renowned virtuous and talented artist, to exhibit his calligraphy works during the National Day military parade at the Great Hall of the People; exhibited works were collected by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2019, conferred the honorary title of "Chinese Art Figure" by the Culture Ministry’s Art Talent Database!
