Personal Profile

Guan Shanxiang, from Fushun City, Liaoning Province. Born in 1959, he graduated from the Art Department of Fushun Higher Teachers College in 1993. Currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Fushun Branch of the Liaoning Public Calligraphy and Painting Artists Association [Contracted Calligrapher and Painter]. In 1975, he officially became the chief disciple of the renowned calligrapher and painter Mr. Tang Wenqi, and received guidance and instruction from masters such as Guan Shanyue, Ren Zheng, Zhong Zengya, and Professor Guo Changxin of the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts. After nearly 40 years of diligent practice in calligraphy and painting, he has developed a natural and effortless artistic style—calm and spontaneous, or passionate and vibrant—his art reflects his character.
