Personal Profile

Xiang Yanfa has been studying calligraphy for fifty years, taking calligraphy as his teacher, persisting in self-study, drawing inspiration from ancient masters while integrating contemporary elements, consistently practicing classical scripts, mastering various styles, also engaging in painting and exploring seal carving with modest achievements.He is currently a council member of the Chinese Association of Senior Calligraphers and Painters, a member of the Hubei Provincial Calligraphers Association, a council member of the Hubei Provincial Association of Senior Calligraphers and Painters, a standing council member of the Yichang City Association of Senior Calligraphers and Painters and the Three Gorges Seal Society, and president of the Changyang Tujia Autonomous County Research Association of Senior Calligraphers and Painters. He was honored as one of the top 100 outstanding senior calligraphers and painters in Hubei Province's first such evaluation; in 2011, he donated one hundred calligraphy and painting works to the county Disabled Persons' Federation, which received coverage from media outlets at all levels.
