Hu Laiwang
Hu Laiwang, male, Han nationality. Born in 1962 in Wuhan, Hubei Province, he is a renowned literati painter and a national first-class artist. From an early age, he developed a passion for painting and entered Wuhan Rongbaozhai, where he studied traditional Chinese painting mounting under his uncle's guidance. Immersed in this environment, influenced by constant exposure, and holding onto traditional values, his love for Chinese calligraphy and painting deepened. In his spare time, he continuously practiced sketching over the years, receiving guidance from many renowned local artists. His works have been well-received by friends and peers alike, with numerous pieces published in various newspapers and magazines. He is currently a member of the Hubei Provincial Arts and Crafts Association, the Wuhan Arts and Crafts Association, and the Wuhan Artists Association. His artworks have been repeatedly exhibited in provincial, municipal, and district-level art exhibitions. His work "Zhuazhou" won an excellence award in the Hubei Provincial Folk Painting Competition. "Whispers of Spring" was selected for the Tenth Hubei Provincial Art Exhibition. "Night Before the Battle" was included in the Hubei Provincial Art Exhibition celebrating the 65th anniversary of the victory of the War of Resistance against Japan. The small-format piece "Two Lines Took Three Years to Compose" was selected for the Hubei Small-Format Painting Exhibition and included in the "Collection of Hubei Calligraphy and Painting Miniatures." "Midnight Musings" won the gold award in the television competition hosted by Wuhan Cable TV to celebrate the return of Hong Kong. Many of his works have been selected and awarded in city and district-level calligraphy and painting exhibitions. He held a figure-themed miniature exhibition titled "Leisure Time," promoting healthy leisure lifestyles to the public, which received widespread acclaim. The exhibition was reported by "Wuhan TV Channel 1," and his art was introduced live on "Minsheng e-Live." His calligraphy and paintings have been featured and promoted in publications such as the "Yangtze Daily," "Wuhan Evening News," "Morning News," and the magazine "China Exchange." In August 2019, he was officially listed in the Encyclopedia of Chinese Painters and Calligraphers.
