Fang Qinglin, male, Han ethnicity, born in 1957. He has loved calligraphy and painting since childhood, studying under the models of Yan Zhenqing's Duobao Pagoda Stele and Liu Gongquan's Xuanmi Pagoda Stele, with a particular fondness for the cursive scripts of Zhang Xu and Huaisu. Throughout his life, he has excelled in cursive script, developing a distinctive style characterized by thickness, flexibility, ethereality, and free-flowing expression. In 1986, his calligraphy work was exhibited in Hubei Province. In 2010, he innovated in the field of calligraphy stroke-order instruction and participated in a special feature on Henan Satellite TV’s Creative Era program, receiving high praise from experts such as Chen Kun; the same year, China Central Television Channel 4 (International Chinese Channel) broadcast his work globally. In 2011, the State Patent Office granted him a patent. In 2015, he was appointed as an academician by the Qi School Calligraphy and Painting Academy in Fushun, Liaoning. In 2017, his calligraphy and painting works were listed for sale on China Famous Artists' Paintings and Calligraphy Network, with their appraisal value certified by the China Collectors Association at RMB 8,000 per square foot for calligraphy and RMB 6,000 per square foot for fine art. In 2017, his works were exhibited in provincial and municipal exhibitions in Fushun, Liaoning Province. His work received an Excellence Award in the Zhang Zeduan Cup Online Calligraphy and Painting Competition hosted by the Kaifeng Sotheby’s Cultural Art Development Center. In 2017, he was appointed as a guest artist by Australia’s Sydney China Art Network. In 2018, his artistic valuation was re-evaluated: calligraphy RMB 9,000–12,000 per square foot; traditional Chinese painting RMB 12,000–15,000 per square foot.In 2017, he was honored by the Henan 100,000 Arts & Culture Center as “Most Influential Artist of 2017”.In 2018, he was admitted as a member of the “China Famous Artists’ Calligraphy and Painting Art Federation”. He is currently a contracted calligrapher and painter with the Henan 100,000 Arts & Culture Center.His works have been sold to Wuhan, Ezhou, Jiangxi, Guangxi, Guangdong, Shenzhen, Xi’an, Beijing, Shanghai, and other regions, earning widespread acclaim from professionals and collectors alike. In September 2019, he participated in the Beijing Art Expo, and on October 30, 2019, he donated a four-foot full-sheet gold-ink seal-script work titled “Ode to Mother” at the CCTV “Hymn to Mother China” Awards Ceremony, receiving the title of “Public Welfare Love Ambassador.” On October 20, 2019, he donated twenty calligraphy pieces at the First International Zhiyun Games, earning the title of “Outstanding Person of Public Welfare.” On November 16, 2019, he attended a donation event for critically ill infants, writing and donating artworks on-site. On November 9, 2019, he visited the North Korean Embassy in China and presented a calligraphy piece to Ambassador Li, who reciprocated with the precious collection “North Korea-China Friendship, Passed Down Through Generations,” featuring images of exchanges between leaders of both nations.
