Personal Profile
Li Xiaogang, born in November 1960, graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at Xinjiang Normal University in 1988. He is currently a full-time art instructor at Changji University and the director of the Jinghao Painting and Calligraphy Society at Changji University. During his studies, he was deeply influenced and mentored by the late watercolor master, Professor Yu Ran. Since engaging in watercolor teaching and professional creation, his works have been exhibited multiple times at regional exhibitions as well as in other provinces and cities. In 2008, his work "Stream" was selected for the exhibition commemorating the 30th Anniversary of China's Reform and Opening-up in Xinjiang; in 1999, his work "Noon" was exhibited at the Xinjiang Art Exhibition marking the 50th Anniversary of the Founding of the PRC; in 2010, his work "Summer Wind of Tianshan" was exhibited at the Xinjiang Art Exhibition commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. His works have been published repeatedly in journals such as "Xinjiang Youth" and "Contemporary Communication." The work "Noon" was included in the collection "Selected Works of Contemporary Watercolor and Gouache Art in Xinjiang," while "Sunlight at Noon" was featured in the collection "Selected Sketches of Contemporary Watercolor Art in Xinjiang." His work "Winter on Ma River" has been toured in Changji, Shihezi, and Manas County. He is a member of the Xinjiang Artists Association, the Watercolor Art Committee, and the China Association for Art Education.
