Zhang Yongchang
Zhang Yongchang, styled “Zongzi Jushi,” Han ethnicity, born in 1948, holds a college-level education and is originally from Henan Province. He began practicing calligraphy from childhood and started writing with a brush at the age of eighteen. Over the years, he has extensively studied and copied steles and scrolls by masters throughout Chinese history, widely absorbing and integrating diverse techniques to develop his own distinctive calligraphic style—majestic and vigorous, dignified and generous, yet gracefully fluid and elegant. In recent years, he has devoted himself wholeheartedly to cultivating generations of calligraphy talents through various training courses, tirelessly contributing to the prosperity and development of China’s traditional culture. Building upon tradition, he has innovated and evolved his art, forming a style widely appreciated and recognized by the public.
He is currently a member of the China Calligraphers Association, a member of the Henan Calligraphers Association, a National First-Class Artist, and Vice President of the Lingnan Calligraphy and Painting Academy in Nanshan District, Shenzhen.
