Li Yuchun, born in March 1957 in Wuchang, Harbin, uses the pen name Xiangyangshanren and graduated from the Art College of Harbin Normal University. He is currently a professor at the School of Art and Design, Changzhou Institute of Technology, Jiangsu; an artist and visiting scholar at the Lu Yushun Studio of the China National Academy of Painting; an art consultant for the Charity Return Project Office of the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives; a council member of the China Painters Association; honorary chairman of the Wuchang City Artists Association in Harbin; director of the Landscape Painting Creation Room at the Jiangnan Academy of Chinese Painting; professor and landscape painting mentor at the Advanced Art Research Class of Jinghua Art Museum, Hebei Academy of Fine Arts, under the publication "China Art Report"; has been engaged in painting and calligraphy education for over 40 years, with more than 1,000 works exhibited or published domestically and internationally, eight monographs published, and 26 academic papers released.

In 1984, his ink painting "Passion" was selected for the "6th Heilongjiang Provincial Art Exhibition";

In 1986, his woodcuts "Purple Garlic Harvest," "Going Ice Skating," "Race," and "Golden Autumn Red Berries" were exhibited at the China Art Museum;

In 1989, his woodcut "Waiting" was exhibited at the China Art Museum and collected by the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;

In 1991, his woodcut "Fallen Petals" was exhibited at the National Cultural Palace in Beijing and awarded as an outstanding work by the Department of Mass Culture, Ministry of Culture;

In 1999, his ink painting "Sacrifice" was selected among the 300 outstanding works of the "Commemorative Exhibition on the 2550th Anniversary of Confucius' Birth," hosted by the China Artists Association, exhibited at the China Art Museum, and collected by the CCTV Academy of Painting; his ink painting "Years" was selected for the "99 Macao Reversion Art Exhibition" hosted by the China Artists Association;

In 2000, his ink painting "Little Friends" won the third prize in the "China Campus Culture Expo" hosted by the Beijing Capital Youth Cultural Center of the Ministry of Culture; his ink painting "The Great Wall and Tianchi" was collected by the Embassy of South Korea in Beijing;

In 2001, his ink painting "Dialogue Between Heaven and Humanity" won the second prize in the "Exhibition Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China," hosted by the Heilongjiang Art Museum;

In 2004, his ink painting "Tianchi Bathed in Morning Light" won the second prize in the "First China Calligraphy and Painting 'Talent Display' Competition," hosted by the Hunan Province Calligraphers Association;

In 2005, his ink painting "Message" was exhibited at the Military Museum of China in Beijing and collected by the State Forestry Administration;

In 2012, his ink painting "Misty Moonlight, Longing for Distant Places" was exhibited at the CPPCC Auditorium in Beijing;

In 2014, the "Li Yuchun Ink Painting Exhibition" was held at the Liu Haisu Art Museum, organized by the Jiangsu Artists Association and Changzhou Institute of Technology;

In 2015, the "Li Yuchun Turkish Ink Painting Exhibition" was held, and the work "Golden Leaves and Jade Trees" was collected by the Ankara University Art Museum in Turkey;

In 2016, his ink painting "The Glorious Light of the Party Illuminates Generations" was selected for the "Exhibition Commemorating the 95th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China";

        He has published multiple works including "Collection of Li Yuchun's Artworks," "Li Yuchun Ink Wash Paintings," "Li Yuchun Color Ink Paintings," "Li Yuchun Landscape Painting Collection," "Techniques and Appreciation of Color Ink Landscape Painting," "Techniques and Appreciation of Freehand Peony Painting," "Selected Landscape Paintings by Li Yuchun," "Techniques and Appreciation of Ink Wash Painting and Ink Wash Animation," and "Selected Landscape Paintings by Li Yuchun."
