Wang Guozhang, male, Han ethnicity, born in 1959, native of Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, graduated from the Department of Fine Arts, Art College of Harbin Normal University. Pen name: Yiqin Mo Ren. Currently serving as院长 of the Shanghai branch of the Chinese Contemporary Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting Academy, Deputy Director of the Running Script Committee of the Chinese Modern Calligraphy and Painting Masters Association, and National First-Class Calligrapher. In 1978, he joined the People's Liberation Army and worked in the Political Department of Unit 00519 on film publicity and professional study and research in calligraphy. He specializes in regular script, clerical script, running script, and cursive script. His running and cursive scripts are powerful, smooth like flowing clouds and water, with magnificent momentum. He has developed a grand, dignified, handsome, and elegant style of calligraphic art. In 2014, his calligraphy works were published in Chinese and overseas magazines. In 2015, he was invited to participate in the filming of a television documentary featuring one hundred painters and calligraphers in Shanghai. In 2015, he obtained the Certificate for Registered Calligraphy Instructor from the China Calligraphers Association Calligraphy Grading Program. In October 2015, he won the Gold Award in the Chinese Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting Competition commemorating the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. In 2016, he received an Excellence Award in Calligraphy at the National Military-Civil Fusion Realizing the Chinese Dream Painting and Calligraphy Competition. In 2016, he won the Silver Award in Calligraphy at the National Yanhuang Feeling Painting and Calligraphy Art Competition. In 2016, he won Second Prize in Calligraphy at the National Painting and Calligraphy Teachers' Works Competition organized by the Art Development Center of the Ministry of Culture. His works have been published in numerous newspapers and journals, included and collected in the large-scale album "Realizing the Chinese Dream, Role Models of the Era" by the National Cultural Development Promotion Association. The appraised value of his calligraphy works is 35,000 yuan per square chi.
