 Wang Tian, pen name Gengzhe, male, was born in Northeast China in 1949 and graduated from the Chinese Language Department of the former Beijing Normal College, among others. He has worked as a "sent-down youth," teacher, and soldier. He formerly served as a reporter and art editor for a national-level magazine, as well as Deputy Secretary-General of the China Calligraphers and Painters Association and Deputy Chief Editor of the China Calligraphers and Painters Newspaper. Currently, he is an advisor to the China Calligraphers and Painters Association, Director of the Beijing Art Creation Center, Vice Chairman and Chair of the Art Committee of the Higher Education Base for Calligraphy and Painting Creation; Vice President of the China Academy of Calligraphy and Painting; Vice President of the Beijing Culture Promotion Association and Chairman of both the Defense Culture Research Division and the Art Aesthetics Research Division; Chief Editor of Eastern Art World; Guest Professor at a university's School of Art; and a professional painter at the Xu Beihong Ink Painting Studio. He is also a member of the China Writers Association, the Hu Society of Painters, the Landscape Painting Society, and a regional member of the Artists Association.
        Since childhood, he studied literature and painting under the guidance of his grandfather and father, and later became a disciple of Professor Yao Zhihua and others from the Central Academy of Fine Arts. The painter specializes in expressive landscape and bird-and-flower paintings, with works characterized by fluid brushwork, simple and sincere style, profound conception, and poetic depth that invites contemplation. In the 1970s, his paintings and manuscripts began appearing in newspapers and periodicals, including the People's Daily, China News, and City Times.
        He has published anthologies of landscape paintings as well as essays, novels, poetry, and television scripts, and has written over a hundred critiques, prefaces, and biographies for renowned calligraphers and painters. His artworks have been exchanged in the United States, Japan, South Korea, India, and other countries. Mr. Wang Tian is deeply committed to public welfare and has organized numerous large-scale charity calligraphy and painting events for disaster relief. He has been honored by a national foundation and professional committees with titles such as "Ambassador of Love," "Charity Ambassador," "Tea Industry Art Ambassador," and "Environmental Protection Calligraphy and Painting Ambassador."
