Jiang Yan is skilled in meticulous-style paintings of the national treasure, the giant panda, and is the master of Jiubaozhai, with the Dharma name Jue Yan. He graduated from the Fine Arts Education Department of Harbin Normal University with a bachelor’s degree. He studied landscape painting under Lu Yushun, flower-and-bird painting under Gao Huimin, sketching under Wang Qi, and figure painting under Niu Jin. Due to his reverence for teachers and extensive learning, he has received direct instruction and guidance from many renowned masters and elders. He has been engaged in fine arts education as a senior teacher and mentor, with numerous works collected and awarded. He currently serves as Director of the China Artists Creation and Research Association, member of the China Coal Mine Artists Association, visiting professor at Tianzhiya Art Museum in Sanya, Hainan, art consultant of Tianya Haijiao Painting and Calligraphy Garden, vice chairman and art chief editor of Hainan Painting and Calligraphy Art Network, external liaison director of the China Buddhist Cultural Arts Painting and Calligraphy Academy, member of the Hainan Meticulous Painting Association, art director and honorary director of Nine to Art Museum. His works have won awards, including the gold medal in the "Golden Rooster Cup" China Painting and Calligraphy Grand Prix for his ink painting "Hometown," the first prize in the National Greeting Card Grand Prix for his ink painting "Small Piece," his ink painting "Huajiao Yuan" included in the Heilongjiang Province New Artists, New Works Painting Collection, his ink painting "Peony Immortal" selected for the anthology "Outstanding Works by Chinese Art Teachers," and his ink painting "Traveler" winning the silver medal and included in "Classics of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Masters." His oil painting "Phonograph" and ink painting "Peony Immortal" have been collected by the China Painting and Calligraphy Association. Since 2015, he has been devoted to national treasure-themed creations and edited a special issue of Nine to Art Museum.
