Li Yumin, style name Xiangshi, art name Gu Xiang Lan Fang, master of Hui Feng Tang, was born in 1962 in Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang Province, and graduated in 1988 from the China Calligraphy and Painting Correspondence University with majors in Chinese painting and calligraphy.
Li Yumin has been passionate about calligraphy and painting since childhood. He has studied under renowned Chinese painters: Mr. Yu Zhixue, the founder of Chinese Ice and Snow Landscape Painting; Mr. Chi Chunju, the founder of Pastoral Painting School; and Mr. Zhao Yongben, a renowned calligrapher and seal carver. In 1979, he joined the military, during which he received guidance from Mr. Li Renyi, a distinguished military painter, writer, art critic, and Chief Editor of People's Art Net, as well as Mr. Wu Yueshi, a renowned freehand-style flower-and-bird painter, further enhancing his painting skills. In recent years, he has been deeply influenced by the green-and-blue ink-and-color landscape paintings of the renowned masters Fu Baoshi and Song Wenzhi, as well as the painter Shi Yunxiang. He has devoted himself to studying and innovating landscape painting techniques, forming his own unique style. His landscape paintings are rich in ink and color, grand and vigorous, thick yet agile, and majestic in spirit. They enhance the feng shui and wealth potential of households and bring continuous blessings to their owners’ grand ambitions. His flower-and-bird paintings demonstrate profound skills, elegant and fluent brushwork, and endlessly varied forms. His figure paintings are lively in rhythm, capturing the spirit through form, achieving harmony between form and spirit.
Li Yumin continuously enriches and refines himself on his artistic journey, significantly elevating his artistic cultivation. His masterpieces have been exhibited in national, provincial, municipal, and financial system calligraphy and painting exhibitions, with some works receiving awards. His major representative Chinese paintings include "Spring Plowing and Drought Resistance," "Serene Residence Amidst Streams and Mountains," "Rhythm of Springs Amidst Streams and Mountains," and "Listening to Springs Amidst Streams and Mountains." His works have been published in the supplement of the People's Daily, Heilongjiang Daily, People's Art Net, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China's "Cultural Weekly," and the former Shenyang Military Region's "Forward Newspaper," among other periodicals. His works have been sold to Southeast Asian countries and have received high praise from professionals. Some of Li Yumin’s masterpieces have been eagerly collected by seasoned collectors and renowned entrepreneurs; the prices of his landscape paintings have risen steadily, making him one of the most promising painters for investment today.

In 1976, "Spring Plowing and Drought Resistance" won the Excellent Work Award at the Heilongjiang Provincial Youth Art Exhibition;
In 1995, his calligraphy work won the Second Prize at the Heilongjiang Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition;
In January 2017, his Chinese painting "Serene Residence Amidst Streams and Mountains" won the Excellent Work Award at the Heilongjiang New Artists, New Works Art Exhibition;
In April 2018, "Appreciation of Li Yumin’s Chinese Painting Works" was published on People's Art Net;
In January 2020, his Chinese painting "Rhythm of Springs Amidst Streams and Mountains" won the Second Prize at the ICBC Headquarters Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition;
In March 2020, his promotional poster "ICBC in Action Against the Epidemic" was published in ICBC Headquarters' "Cultural Weekly" titled "Boundless Spring Light, Ideal Time for Resumption of Work";
In September 2020, his Chinese painting "Listening to Springs Amidst Streams and Mountains" won the Excellent Work Award at the Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province Biennial Art Exhibition.
