Li Hanqi’s traditional Chinese paintings evoke a sense of closeness to nature. To experience nature is not limited merely to art or imagery; the nature before our eyes is holistic—encompassing all sounds, colors, spirits, and atmospheres. One, as an artist who understands life, selects the spirit of nature and fuses it with one’s own inner spirit—a perspective universally embraced by literati art. In recent years, Li Hanqi has skillfully incorporated delicate Gongbi techniques into ink-wash paintings, endowing his works with a distinctive and extraordinary artistic effect.
