Li Ziwei, also known as Songzhuzi and Houmosheng, is a National First-Class Artist, a National Guest Artistic Ambassador, a Council Member of the China Calligraphers and Painters Association, a Academician of the China Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, a Member of the Hebei Artists Association, a Member of the Hebei Calligraphers Association, one of the Most Collectible Contemporary Artists, a Master Artist of Legacy, a Chinese Art Figure, and Vice President of the China Landscape Painting Research Institute, as well as a Visiting Professor at the Ink and Wash Danqing Art Academy. A disciple of the Qi School, he studied under masters Li Keran, Li Kuchan, Sun Qifeng, Huang Yongyu, Huo Chunyang, and Gao Shengyu. His calligraphy was taught by masters Ouyang Zhongshi and Liu Bingsen. He has extensively studied and copied the styles of the Two Wangs, Yan Zhenqing, Liu Gongquan, Su Shi, Huang Tingjian, Mi Fu, and Cai Xiang, resulting in works with open and elegant structures and well-regulated compositions. He has furthered his studies in painting at Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts, Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, and the Central Academy of Fine Arts’ Chinese Painting Research Program. He is a contracted artist of Rongbaozhai and a specially appointed artist of the National Art Academy, and has been engaged by multiple galleries and cultural companies.
