Liu Fuqiang, pen name San Chuan, also known as Master of Shujing Studio and Half-Lanzhou Native, is from Yongdeng County, Gansu Province, born in March 1963. He holds a postgraduate degree and has been practicing calligraphy for over thirty years. He is currently a National Level Three (Senior) Calligrapher, a member of the Gansu Provincial Calligraphers Association, Vice Chairman of the Lanzhou City Calligraphers Association, Deputy Director of the Gansu Modern Masters Calligraphy and Painting Academy, and an advisor to the Lanzhou Daqian Calligraphy and Painting Academy. His calligraphy specializes in running and cursive scripts, characterized by elegant structure, fluid brushwork, and rigorous composition, having won multiple awards in domestic calligraphy and painting exhibitions. In recent years, San Chuan’s calligraphy works have been continuously published on Sina Weibo, widely circulated, and gained increasing influence, gradually establishing him as a well-known online calligraphy figure from Gansu, with over 26,000 loyal followers. Nearly a thousand of his works have been collected by institutions and individuals both domestically and internationally. He has been selected as one of the “Top 100 Signed Masters of China Calligraphy and Painting Collection” and one of the “Top 100 Most Valuable Calligraphy and Painting Masters on China Online Library,” and his profile has been included in the Lanzhou Municipal Archives’ “Archive of Contemporary Lanzhou Calligraphy and Painting Masters.”
