Personal Profile

Wang Hong, male, from Zhenyuan, Gansu, began studying calligraphy at an early age and started painting later on. He has successively attended advanced training programs at Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts and the Advanced Research Program at Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University. In calligraphy, he studied under Ru Gui, Huo Songlin, Wang Zhi'an, Chen Hailiang, and others; in traditional Chinese painting, his mentors include Liu Baoshen and Xiao Huan from Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, and Lu Shuangxi, Li Haixia, Li Zhe, Wang Shenyong, Liu Jibiao, among others, from the advanced research program at Tsinghua University. He is currently a member of Gansu Calligraphers Association and Gansu Artists Association, as well as a member of the Hebei Provincial Association of Gongbi Painters. He is also a contracted artist with Lanzhou Success Art Gallery and Beijing Hanhai. His professional work involves creation and exchange in calligraphy and Chinese painting, as well as education, training, and teaching calligraphy for college entrance examinations.
