Personal Profile

Gan Lin, male, Han ethnicity, childhood name Fangxian, art name Xigu Shanweng, was born in 1986 in Shangshan Zhuang Village, QiuYu Township, Weiyuan County, Gansu Province. From a young age, he was deeply influenced by his great-grandmother, grandfather, and maternal grandfather, developing a passion for painting, calligraphy, and ceramic art. Through constant exposure and interaction with fellow villagers and artist friends, as well as guidance from senior masters, he gradually progressed; his grandfather taught him traditional Chinese scholarship. He has continuously strived to deepen his studies, and after graduating from East China University of Science and Technology, he pursued further education at Beijing Normal University, refining his understanding of traditional Chinese scholarship. He is now a renowned lecturer in Chinese scholarship and a first-class fine arts practitioner.
