Du Xiangyang, male, Han ethnicity, born in July 1968, from Zhenyuan County, Gansu Province. He holds a secondary specialized education. At the age of 19, he was recruited to work at Changqing Drilling Corporation. During his career, he was awarded the title of Advanced Individual by the original Drilling Brigade Two and Changqing Drilling Corporation five times, as well as the title of Worker Star of Changqing Bureau and Youth Position Expert of Changqing Drilling Corporation. He holds the professional title of Lathe Technician (National Level Two), which he has held to this day. He is also a member of the Changqing Oilfield Calligraphers Association and the Qingyang City Calligraphers Association.
In his spare time, he enjoys literature and calligraphy. In his youth, his poem "Oil Collection Girl" won the third prize from the Changqing Petroleum Newspaper and the Changqing Bureau Trade Union. In middle age, his poem "My Motherland" won the second prize from CNPC Chuanqing Drilling. After turning fifty, he devoted himself to lyric writing and has so far composed about sixty lyrics, published on websites such as CiQuWang. His work "The Call of Life" was featured in the Qingyang Federation of Literary and Art Circles' Anti-Epidemic Works Exhibition.
His calligraphy works have received the Outstanding Award in the "Wutai Mountain Cup National Youth Calligraphy Competition," the First Prize in the exhibition commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, and were selected for the "Second China Petroleum Calligraphy Exhibition," exhibited at the China National Art Museum, among others.
