 Qi Huijuan, Director of the Baishi Art Research Institute and Visiting Professor at Xiamen University, was born in Xinjiang in the early 1960s and is a descendant of the master painter Qi Baishi. She has frequently participated in public welfare and painting activities alongside cultural figures such as Minister Gao Zhanxiang of the Ministry of Culture and calligraphy master Mr. Shen Peng. She has also received high praise from Mr. Xie Piao, President of the Yan'an Five Elders Research Association, and Mr. Huang Xinyang, Director of the Chinese Daoist Calligraphy and Painting Academy, in Beijing. Endowed with exceptional talent and artistic aptitude, Qi Huijuan began learning painting, calligraphy, and poetry at the age of three under the guidance of her father, Qi Liangfu, the eldest grandson of Qi Baishi. In her youth, she often received intimate instruction and meticulous training from Qi Baishi’s sons. For over forty years, she has diligently pursued her craft, inheriting the essence of the Qi school while boldly innovating and developing a unique technique of painting from memory. Her works, rooted in life, feature exquisite brushwork, lively vitality, and delightful charm, earning widespread acclaim from professionals and being collected by numerous institutions and private collectors.
