Zhong Songcheng

Songcheng Zhong, male, born in 1977, graduated from the Fine Arts College of Fujian Normal University. He is the founder of Yichuantang Calligraphy and Painting, and has been engaged in calligraphy and painting teaching for more than twenty years, with rich teaching experience. His students include children, primary and secondary school students, college students, adults, enthusiasts of calligraphy and painting from all walks of life, and teachers from extracurricular training schools. Since childhood, he has been fond of calligraphy and painting. He was apprenticed to Professor Xunxiang Li, who is a specially appointed dean of the Art College of Huangshi Polytechnic Institute in Hubei Province, a postdoctoral researcher at Wuhan University of Technology, and a master's degree supervisor at Zhejiang University. He first studied Tang dynasty regular script Ouyang style, and after laying a solid foundation, he turned to Zhao Mengfu's small regular script "Jian'an Fu", "Caoquan Stele", "Zhangqian Stele", Wang Xizhi's "Lanting Xu", and Yan Zhenqing's "Qinli Stele", integrating and drawing on the strengths of various styles, forming his own style. His calligraphy is elegant and beautiful, with strict structure yet full of vitality. For painting, he started with Song dynasty court painting style, and absorbed the basic techniques of light and shadow and tonal changes from Western painting, gradually forming an artistic style characterized by freshness, divine brushwork, and strong sense of layers. His works have entered art galleries, hotels, clubs, resorts, etc. across the country, and are popular in Beijing, Jiangsu and Zhejiang, Fuzhou, Xiamen and other places. He is an emerging powerful painter, and his works have great appreciation potential. Currently, he serves as a calligrapher of the Chinese Famous Personalities Calligraphy and Painting Academy, a researcher of the Fujian Snow Peak Calligraphy and Painting Research Association, a professional painter of Fujian Yuanyuantang, and a standing director of the Fujian Strait Stars Calligraphy and Painting Academy. In calligraphy, he excels in Ouyang and Yan style regular scripts, and also proficient in running script, clerical script, seal script, Wei script, especially small regular script; in painting, he specializes in freehand and meticulous bird-and-flower paintings, freehand landscape paintings, sketches, and sandstone process paintings; in sculpture, he excels in stone carving (shadow carving). He is now professionally engaged in calligraphy and painting creation and training.
