Personal Profile
Zheng Wendong, also known as Jiesan, Moxianren, and Wuxiang. His studio is named Jiesan Caotang, Moxiantang, and Migushanfang. Born in 1989 in Xiapu, Fujian, he is currently a member of the Fuzhou Calligraphers Association and a photographer. Since childhood, he has been fond of doodling, and his father encouraged him to pursue it. He began practicing calligraphy at age eight, starting with Tang Dynasty regular script and maintaining daily practice. He has also explored seal, Wei, and clerical scripts, focusing particularly on running and cursive scripts. Later, he studied qin (zither), chess, poetry, and tea ceremony, thereby realizing the interconnectedness of ancient traditions. This has laid a solid foundation for his mastery of traditional art. Having taught aesthetic education for over a decade, he remains deeply fascinated by traditional Chinese landscape and figure painting, as well as brick inscriptions and relief carvings from the Qin and Han dynasties, often integrating their styles into his calligraphy and painting. In his early years, he co-founded Dongyue Sishu with fellow art practitioners, aiming to foster connections within the calligraphy community. He continues to study calligraphy, seeking wise teachers or learning from the ancients, extensively studying calligraphic theories, meticulously researching steles and rubbings, and tirelessly striving for self-improvement. His calligraphy and painting works have been exhibited in numerous specialized art exhibitions and are highly collected by corporations, institutions, and individuals.
